What does a District Director do?
Our District Directors truly are the Champions of the Board. They work hard promoting unity, serving as a spokesperson for their district, and increasing ONA membership. The District Directors serve 2-year terms on the Board. Their responsibilities include:
- Getting to know the neighbors in their district.
- Being visible and approachable (to the best of their ability).
- Referring neighbors to the ONA website.
- Promoting the ONA and aspiring to achieve 100% membership within their district.
- Taking the lead in initiation, planning, and execution of ONA neighborhood activities.
- Enlisting the help of neighbor volunteers.
- Attending and actively participating in monthly ONA Board Meetings (first Mondays at 7pm) and 3 General Meetings.
- Ensuring Membership Flags are delivered to ONA supporters.
- Alerting Membership Committee to prepare “welcome bags” for new residents.
- Being vigilant (alerting Membership Committee of new residents; reporting suspicious/criminal activity to Crime Watch committee; reporting landscape/sprinkler issues to Environmental Committee).
- Installing Membership Drive/General Meeting signage as directed by Board.
- Decorating entrance(s) within your district with ONA provided holiday decorations.
