03-2021 Oakridge Food Drive
Oakridge residents’ food donations tipped the scales at 1,517 pounds (a 488-pound increase over the food drive last October). In addition to the food donations, there was a total of $270 in cash donations for Good Sam to use in restocking their food pantry. Way to go Oakridge!

Oakridge Holiday Meals for First Responders
With a few changes to respect protocols required during the pandemic, Oakridge residents continued the annual tradition of providing holiday meals (Thanksgiving and Christmas) for Fire Stations 3 & 11 (which service Oakridge) and the Garland Police Department.Â

Oakridge Food Drive for Good Samaritans of Garland
Residents gave a whopping 1,029 pounds in donations during the two hour Food Drive on October 18th. Way to go!

2020 Oakridge National Night Out Caravan
Many residents headed outside to greet the Garland Police and Oakridge Citizens On Patrol as they made their way through Oakridge for National Night Out.
2020 Easter Caravan
This Easter, Oakridge residents Rebecca Chanez and Melanie Busby organized a fun Easter Caravan to spread some
much-needed cheer around our neighborhood. They even thought to invite the Oakridge COPs to join in on the fun.

Holiday Meals/Snacks for Fire and Police Stations
Continuing a longstanding (and award-winning) annual tradition, Oakridge provided Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for Garland Fire Stations 3 & 11,
as well as snack items for the Garland Police Station. Oakridge residents generously provided enough money to
also furnish stuffed animals for the stations to use when working on the job with frightened children.
Citizens Police Academy, Class # 53
Oakridge Participants included Oliver Harter, Dan & Joan Nichols, and Lee Litton.
This hands-on experience was an inside look at the Garland Police Department with helicopter, K-9, SWAT, and more.
