About Oakridge

Oakridge, founded in 1985, is a well-established neighborhood in Garland, Texas, with 1,166 homes spread across quiet streets and lush shared spaces. Known for its strong sense of community and well-maintained entrances, the neighborhood takes pride in its welcoming environment.

In 1992, residents established the Oakridge Neighborhood Association (ONA), a 501(c)(4) volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to preserving the beauty and unity of the community. The neighborhood is divided into 7 districts, each supported by a local ONA Director who helps organize initiatives and serve as a point of contact. While the ONA has no authority over private property, it plays a vital role in maintaining entrances, promoting safety awareness, and coordinating community efforts.

Governed by an elected board of volunteers, the ONA holds quarterly meetings where all neighbors are encouraged to attend. Membership is voluntary, and annual household dues start at $60, funding projects and activities that directly benefit the community.
