Neighborhood Garage Sale

Saturday, June 25th, 9am-4pm

The ONA is hosting a 1-day-only Oakridge Neighborhood garage sale on Saturday, June 25th, 9am-4pm.

How does it work?

Residents will have garage sales at their homes, and the ONA will provide advertising. At each of the major Oakridge entrances, the ONA will place signs advertising the neighborhood garage sale. We will also print maps showing all of the participating Oakridge homes. Copies of the maps will be made available at participating homes so they can be passed out to the garage sale shoppers.

(Note: The ONA will not receive any profits from these sales. All sales are privately managed by the residents and the residents keep their own profits.)

Garage or Yard?

Residents are welcome to host sales in their garage or yard. Keep in mind that it is illegal to block the alley, so if you plan to hold a sale at the back of your house, you will need to direct people to park on the street rather than in the alley.

Are you interested in participating?

Here is what you need to do:

  • Obtain a free permit number: Call Code Compliance at 972-485-6400 for a garage sale permit number. There is no fee required. They will ask for your address and the date your sale will begin. The official neighborhood garage sale will be 6/25. You are welcome to privately hold your sale for more days than that—just be sure to tell the City the dates of your sale. On the day of the sale, the permit number, date, and time MUST be on your sign in front of your house. For more information, visit:

  • Let the ONA know—by JUNE 15—you want your garage/yard sale to be included on the map: Any Oakridge residents who want their address included on the garage sale map should send an email to Jackie Reynolds at jackiesr@twc.com with your name, address, and permit number. The email must be submitted by June 15.
